- The Perspective
Centres for Studies in Human Development was established on 8 January 2010 vide Order No. AUK-206/53/2007/1532-35 dated 08.01.2010 in pursuance of the Resolution No. AC: 52:09:02 dated 4th December 2009 of the Academic Council of Assam University. The centre started functioning from the temporary transit accommodation type building of Department of Economics and subsequently in the month of April it was provided a separate venue. To begin with, the Steering Committee decided to organize a regional seminar on “Dimensions of Human Development in Barak Valley” which was held during August 23-24, 2010. Thereafter, the committee set up the office and library of the Centre and outlined its future course of action comprising research plan, awareness and training programmes, seminars/symposiums etc.
